About The Event

This session brings together three perspectives on expanding engagement in genomics. First, Dr. Shoumita Dasgupta will share perspectives on mentorship in genomic education, emphasizing the value of engaging learners holistically and authentically. By connecting across communities, these efforts aim to broaden participation and support a future in genomic medicine that serves all patients. Dr. Rebecca Ahrens-Nicklas will then discuss her experience with the implementation of personalized gene-editing therapy. Emphasizing the need for a large team to work together in advancing complex genomic therapies will lay the foundation for future genomic therapies. And in conclusion, Sharon Terry will share her journey into genomics, highlighting the importance of collaboration to advance our understanding of genomics and transforming the future of genomic medicine.
